Dato’ Hj. Abdul Rahim bin Shaik Mohamed is the founder and current Chairman of Highgard Sdn Bhd since our incorporation in 1995. Born and bred in Penang, he is a very well known figure among political and business divides together with good and close relationship among Ministers, State Governments, GLCs and MNCs.
In business front, he is also the Founder of Konsortium Perkapalan Berhad, Founder and Advisor of Konsortium Pembangunan Ekonomi Bersatu Pulau Pinang, Committee Member of Dewan Perniagaan Melayu Pulau Pinang, Committee Member of Persatuan Pemunggah Negeri Pulau Pinang, Committee Member of Perdasama Negeri Pulau Pinang, Committee Member of Persatuan Melayu Pulau Pinang and many more corporations, societies and social engagements.
In the line of his involvement in business, he had also helped in generating many entrepreneurs, heads of various Government departments and dignitaries. For all his services to the society in general, he was then conferred the Darjah Setia Pangkuan Negeri (DSPN) carrying the title Dato’ and Pingat Kelakuan Terpuji (PKT) by the Tuan Yang Terutama Yang Dipertua Negeri of Penang. He was also being conferred Bintang Cemerlang Melaka (BCM) by the Tuan Yang Terutama Yang Dipertua Negeri of Melaka.
With his vast experience in business and the construction industry, his leadership, guidance and knowledge to Highgard Sdn Bhd will benefit us in moving forward to attain our mission to provide total client services through a coordinated team approach, embracing the principal of organised, hard working and professionalism with integrity.
DATO’ MOHD RIZAL BIN DATO’ HAJI ABDUL RAHIM, DIMP
Dato’ Mohd Rizal bin Haji Abdul Rahim is the Vice Executive Chairman and also acted as the Managing Director which determines the direction and future of the company. Graduated with a degree in corporate communication at Universiti Putra Malaysia and holds a Diploma in Business Studies at the Institute of Commercial Management, Bournemouth England.
During his involvement in the field of construction of more than 20 years, he has led several successful projects in property and housing development, transportation, education, public infrastructure, and maintenance services for which and estimated construction cost of more than RM800 millions.
Sound contacts and strength with various Ministry, State Governments, Local Councils, Government Linked Companies (GLC’s) and Multi-National Companies (MNC). Handled corporate deals in excess of 2.0 billion in various types of corporate exercises. Engaged in the construction of the Sekolah Menengah Sains Bentong, Pahang worth of RM56.6 Million in year 2009-2011, the construction of Klinik Kesihatan 2 Bandar Cheras (Lady Templer), Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur worth RM97 Million and current engagements are the construction of Perumahan Rakyat 1 Malaysia (PRIMA) houses with mixed development in Mukim Sabai, Daerah Bentong, Pahang worth of RM79 Million and the construction of Perumahan Penjawat Awam 1 Malaysia (PPA1M) in Gambang, Pahang worth of RM323 Million in terms of GDC.
In addition, he has also been actively involved in a number of Non-Governmental Organization (NGOs). Among them are drug prevention Association (PEMADAM), The Association of Welfare Facilitator National Bureau, Department of Prime Minister and Business Pals Club of Penang.
MOHD ROSMAN BIN DATO’ HAJI ABDUL RAHIM
Mohd Rosman Bin Dato’ Haji Abdul Rahim is the Director and M&E Engineer of the company. He was born in Penang on 1990. Received his early education in Penang Free School with achievements of both 5A’s in PMR and SPM. He later then further his studies in Kolej MARA Kulim for his 1 year Matriculation Program in the Physics Stream. He then pursues his higher education at government local education institute, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), where he graduated in Electrical Engineering (Power Industry) after a 4 years period of studying. He is now an endorsed graduate engineer (Engr) registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia.
After his graduation, he joined Konsortium Pembangunan Ekonomi Bersatu Penang, and being appointed as the General Manager for the KPEB Mart Sdn Bhd chain business of convenient store, Agro Bazaar Kedai Rakyat throughout Penang. He has been handling the stock control and management of the company, working within established guidelines, particularly with brands and maintaining a surplus profit for the continuity of strong and firm business for the best interest of the company. After leaving KPEB, he then started to work with EWN Engineering as a Supervisor/Site Engineer, which he was responsible for all aspects of numerous construction work and underground work including building expansion, renovations, cable pulling, installing instruments and many more.
During his involvement in the field of construction of more than 4 years, he has been involved in several projects in property and housing development, transportation, education, public infrastructure, and maintenance services for which and estimated construction cost of more than RM150 millions. Currently in Highgard Sdn Bhd, he has been engaged in the construction of the Sekolah Menengah Sains Bentong, Pahang worth of RM56.6 Million in year 2009-2011and current engagements are the construction of Perumahan Rakyat 1 Malaysia (PRIMA) houses with mixed development in Mukim Sabai, Daerah Bentong, Pahang worth of RM79 Million and the contruction of Perumahan Penjawat Awam 1 Malaysia (PPA1M) in Gambang, Pahang worth of RM323 Million in terms of GDC.
MOHAMAD AQIF REZZA BIN DATO’ MOHD RIZAL
Mohamad Aqif Rezza Bin Dato’ Mohd Rizal is born in Penang and bred in Subang Jaya, Selangor is a Director of the company. He receives his early education at SMK USJ4 from 2007-2008 before he went abroad to Melbourne, Australia and continue his education by completing his 0 Level in William Ruthven Secondary College in the year of 2009-2012. Upon his return to Malaysia, he then furthers his Diploma in Sport Science at University College Shahputra in the year on 2014-2016 where he graduates with flying colors.
During his involvement in the field of construction, he was involved in several engagements such as the ongoing construction of Perumahan Rakyat 1 Malaysia (PRIMA) houses with mixed development in Mukim Sabai, Daerah Bentong, Pahang worth of RM79 Million, where he has led a number of people in marketing program. They had successfully initiate a soft launching program for the project on 22nd October 2016, with outstanding attendance of potential buyers interested in buying the houses offered. Secondly he is currently involved in the project of contruction of Perumahan Penjawat Awam 1 Malaysia (PPA1M) in Gambang, Pahang worth of RM323 Million in terms of GDC.
WAN ABDUL SAMAD BIN ZAINAL ABIDIN
CORPORATE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Mr. Wan Abdul Samad bin Zainal Abidin was born in November 1961 at Kuala Pari, Perak on a Thursday morning. His early education phase was located everywhere, following his father who was transferred all over Malaysia while working as a Traffic Hand with Malaysia Airline System.
Mr. Wan was educated in Ipoh, Jitra, Klang, Bayan Lepas and lastly in Georgetown, Penang where he stayed until finishing his A Level at Penang’s Technical Institute. He then completed his first tertiary education with a Diploma in Public Administration at Institut Teknologi MARA (now UiTM) in Menggatal, Sabah in late 1983 and later furthered his study at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Sintok, Kedah with a Bachelor in Public Management in 2004.
At the age of 23, he joined the construction industry as an Executive Project Officer with the Perbadanan Pembangunan Bandar (Urban Development Authority or UDA) where he was also appointed to be the Secretary for Jawatankuasa Pemandu (Task Force) of the Bumiputera’s Participation and Coordination Unit at the Prime Minister’s Department in Penang. Moving forward, he later joint multiple construction companies including Tanjung Serbaneka (M) Sdn Bhd, Pakatan Trafik Sdn Bhd, Maxis Communication Bhd, Zabima Engineering Sdn Bhd, Jamil Ghani Construction Sdn Bhd and Leighton Contractors (M) Sdn Bhd handling numerous disciplines in multiple projects such as roads safety, telecommunication, common trenching, railways, highways, bridges and jetties among others.
At Highgard Sdn Bhd, Mr. Wan leads the overall functions of our organisation mainly on technical, financial and administrative where he reports directly to the Managing Director himself. Together with a team of dedicated professionals and newly recruited workforce, he has started two main projects totaling RM402 million in Karak and Gambang, Pahang. With his vast experiences in the construction industry and coupled with his appointment as Pakar Industri (Industry Expert) to the National Occupational Skill Standards or NOSS by CIDB since 2012, he is an asset to Highgard Sdn Bhd in assisting Dato’ Rahim’s mission to propel Highgard Sdn Bhd to become one of the leading and capable construction players both locally and internationally, Insya Allah.
DATIN Dr NAZURA BT MOHAMED SAYUTI
SUPPLY CHAIN ADVISOR
Datin Dr Nazura Mohamed Sayuti joined Highgard Sdn Bhd in the year 2000 as the Head of our Administration and Finance Department. She was instrumental in setting up the Human Relations and Finance procedures for Highgard. She later left for Australia in 2010 to pursue her Postgraduate (PhD) program in Supply Chain Management at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University.
Upon her return in 2012, she has been asked to be an advisor to Highgard in Supply Chain In 2015, Highgard managed to get two more projects; firstly with SPNB Idaman Sdn Bhd to build 462 units of houses and 10 units of double storey shop-houses worth RM79 million. The project is now on-going and scheduled to be completed by mid 2018. Datin Nazura was appointed as a consultant to ease us on the supply chain, formalities and marketing of the project. The other project is with proposed development of Perumahan Pejawat Awam 1 Malaysia or PPA1M to build 1,040 units of multiple types of houses and 12 units of double storey shop-houses at Gambang, which is situated next to the University Malaysia Pahang. This project is worth RM323 million where all units will be secured by the Federal Government to be sold only to the civil servants.
With her vast experience and knowledge in Supply Chain Management, Datin Dr Nazura has also designed a system for procurement, payment control, logistics, warehousing and deliveries are further streamlined with the execution of a systematic procedures.
MOHAMAD SUFFIAN J.A.MISPAR
CORPORATE PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Mohamad Suffian bin Jantan Amat Mispar was born in August 5, 1986 in Bandar Jengka, Pahang. He is a graduate Diploma in Politeknik Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Kuantan, Pahang in Civil Engineering (2004 – 2007) and graduate of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) Victoria, Australia in the field of Civil Engineering Buildings and Structures (2009–2011). He was first involved in the construction industry in 2012 in Sunway Construction Company as a Junior Engineer and in February 2013 until 2014. He was gaining experience in Chempaka Indah Sdn Bhd as project manager. The Chempaka Indah he headed home construction project in FELDA and road construction and infrastructure projects.
In Highgard Sdn. Bhd, his designation was Project Development Manager. His involvement is to monitor the process and progress of each projects. Among the projects that are involved include the Rumah Idaman Rakyat development project (RIR) in Karak, Pahang and the development of Perumahan Penjawat Awam 1 Malaysia (PPA1M) development project planned to be constructed in Gambang Kuantan, Pahang. In addition, he has also actively involved in a number of non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Among them are he was a Youth Exco member for Majlis Belia Felda Wilayah Jengka, Pahang.
